A LOST WANDERER

Few days back while waiting on the the bus stop i came across a lady with mental illness. Her vulverability made me conserned for all the people suffering from mental illness in our country. This poem is dedicated to all the people fighting their illness and to all the people working towards eradicating mental illness.

A Lost Wanderer

Lost in her own world,
Famished by the neck,
Shabby in her dress,
Unaffected she goes….

Murmuring to herself,
Sometimes laughing, sometimes crying,
Indifferent to eyes around,
Unaffected she goes…

Children throwing pebbles,
People calling her names,
Street hooligans behaving nasty,
Unaffected she goes…

She has no hope,
Nobody to call her own,
Undaunted by others behavior,
Unaffected she goes…

If she would have a mind of an ordinary,
A though would undoubtedly run through her,
“If I had AIDS, cancer or TB, I would be put to heal,
People would show fake concern, lacking compassion.
In a country where even beggars are fed why am I starving?
Where is my dignity? Where is my respect?
I am ill. So what if it’s a mental illness…”

Surely then she would be troubled,
By people’s perception and mindset,
But today she is atypical, strange and unaffected,
Away from the pretentious world that once made her vulnerable.

A Threatening word: "Discipline"

Discipline is a word not liked my many. But most will not deny it that if you discipline your life to do small things you don’t like; you can get in return the big things you like.
Self discipline also helps in achieving wonders. Getting your self to study early every morning or sleeping early at nights, avoiding party for studying, gyming at least thrice a week, avoiding smoking can go a long way. It not only leads to reducing future anxiety and tension but also helps to avoid negative energies that would have disintegrated the positive ones. Thus we can live healthier along with performing well in exams/work by just self disciplining ourselves.
The best part of self discipline is that you do not need other people to discipline you. You are the grand master and completely in control of your self. Thus you can live fully and be in charge of your life.
When people don’t have self discipline they expect others to discipline them, thus running the risk of others taking control over them.

“Discipline is not what a teacher teaches you, it is some thing that comes out of a virtuous soul”.
This article is inspired by Andrew Mathews, the writer of “Follow your heart”.

THE PINK DOVE

There was a time when the sun never shined,
The darkness prevailed and the white dove was about to die.

She was the most loved, cherished and cared
But god knows why she was so despaired.

She had many associates the parrots, the pigeons, the sparrows and the crows.
All were her friends though she never thought so.

Her despair, disenchant, disillusion and the consequent psychic death was slow.
But her turbulent mind, watering eyes and trembling legs were always on the go.

There was no reason for the fear as they were not even near.
But she had no choice as her soul was seared.

But then one day trudging through her way,
She came across an enchanting pink dove by the bay.

Pink she was with a golden hallow.
Her tender radiance made the white dove glow.

The pink dove' s affability, responsiveness, and compassion.
Made the white doves’ rebirth a sure succession.

In the pink doves warmth she discovered herself,
The despair was useless and the pain was stale.

Now the white dove chirps like never before
Her heart is free and fears are no more.

No more of disillusion. No more of despair.
The white dove is flying with strong wings that need no repair.
